And how long did it take to figure out timers?  Quite a while since NYCTBA's inception.  Obviously technology or our routes dont advance overnight, they take time.  So we're taking our time to slowly transition or advancing into OpenBVE, while we continue to push the limits of the BVE 2 and 4 software at the same time.

People werent worried about that stuff back in the NYCTBA days were they?...they were just glad they had a simulator. I understand it takes time....but look at the Watford Junction to Rugby route...thats for OpenBVE...it looks almost real..it has epic stuff like thunder lightning, moving switches, etc...as well as the other developments i've seen over there. Give me the real reason as to why we haven't got that far yet. My opinion is we have to get our routes right the first time instead of making better versions of them like they do, and they have an even bigger following than we do here, which would probably benefit us a little more. So in a way it's a "I understand but..." and at the same time a "don't gimme that crap" attitude...so I'm on the fence about it....so this topic can also change into a "do we just do our routes once and forget them" thing or "do them and keep improving them" sort of thing.....so I think our routes are just too rushed which doesn't give us a chance to show off the greatness of BVE or OpenBVE

So in the end of this post...lol...I'm gonna tone it down and say this nice and clear "OpenBVE I will admit isn't a bad program...but I don't just want to lay down and accept that it's the future of us because I personally don't believe we reached the full potential of BVE to just call it the past...when we reach the full potential of BVE then I believe would be the right time to worry about OpenBVE"....so there you have it...my solid opinion lol Ill admit I was a bit immature with my "openBVE sucks and thats it" attitude...but try to look past it lol

Dj Hammers:

I want BVE4 sound and physics with OpenBVE Graphics. Lol also maybe a full multiplayer option, dual or quad processor support, bloom, HDR, simulator generated shadows, and animated passengers.

Which is why we keep or slow pace, and take our time.  We may never reach the potential of anything, because by the time we do reach it, there will always be another hole to fill.  Well we're not supposed to anyway.  Even for our friends across the pond, they will always find something that they haven't yet exploited.  The Chashinai Railway Route has a feature that allows for random times, and random placement of trains, but lack the visual appeal of the Watford Junction to Rugby.

We cant get our routes right the first time, because if we tried that, we wouldn't get anything released.  This looks great, but here comes a new feature, time to shut that, and redo it to match up to the new features.  What consumers have is always at least generations before what is currently developed today.

Hammers this isn't a wish list, its BVE vs. OpenBVE.  What do you think is better, how we should approach development, and things like that.

then if BVE 2 and 4 are reaching their limits how do you know were reaching the limits when you just said there's always gonna be a new hole to fill which means BVE2 and 4 are technically limitless. Lol...nice contradiciton there Kev ;)

ipaclansite:

In terms of graphics, BVE 2 is reaching its limits.  Whether or not we reached it I have no idea, but we're getting there fairly quickly.  When BVE 2's graphics blow up, then its time to hop off to the next one.  Of course, the idea with hardware allows BVE 2's graphics to keep on growing, but it grows more and more inefficient.  Software wise, we're limited.  We have to assume that hardware isn't changing, which obviously it isn't, not quick enough anyway.  Unless your a tech geek, and have lots of cash to throw away, you could update your hardware every few months.
