Ok, I'm crazy about BVE.  I went out a got a new laptop.  I haven't cracked it open, so I can still return it.  I'm reading about the issues with Windows 7 and BVE.  I'm ok with downloading the .dll files if necessary.  (Great instructions).  However, will the AMD Athion II Dual-Core processor P320 be ok to power all this?

If you got a new laptop, then it should have been a quad core processor, becuase dual core is kinda old. Do you think you could post your graphics card and amount of RAM you have? BVE doesn't require much, but for some routes its best to get a non integrated graphics, like a ATI or Nvidia card.

If you could still return it and you decide to do so, I would recommend a Intel Core i3 or AMD Phenom processor.

PS: If its a netbook, I highly doubt it would be able to run the very detailed routes here.

It should be ok i mean im currently running BVE on Pentium 4 Processor and that's a old processor. Im guessing yours is fairly new so it should be ok

Many programs don't even take advantage of dual core processors let alone quad core processors. Quad core processors often only make a noticeable difference in operating system operations.
The idea that dual core is old is a completely false statement made up by people who don't understand computers who go out and buy whatever the best buy ads show. Dual core is a perfectly modern technology despite what the people want you to believe.

And I'm not defending myself or anything, because I'm posting on a computer with an Intel Core 2 Quad 2.5GHZ.

It's a Dell Inspirion laptop.  It's got 3GB of memory and an integrated ATI Mobility Radeon Graphics.  BTW, I've been running BVE w/no problems (now) on a MY2000 Dell Latitude with XP...  So much for progress...
