Dear Anthony Bowden,

I love the progress you made with openBVE development. I am writing to you for a few requests that I hope you can fulfill.

My first request is that you become a member of BVEStation, and website devoted to New York City BVE Content.  NYC BVE Development is still very basic, such as no animated objects, no moving AI trains and all that.  If you could teach the developers of BVEStation it would be a great improvement and step forward to NYCT BVE Development.

Also, I would like you to teach me how to center animated train cars. I have basic knowledge to make animated LCD Screens for trains such as the destination sign by making B3D states and putting them into .ANIMATED files. However, I have trouble centering them. I know that for non-animated train exteriors, you would just have to use the TranslateAll command, which is easy. However, it doesn't work with animated train exteriors. I would like you to give me some instructions in your reply.

Yours,
Eric Lin

Hi Eric,

Thanks for contacting me, and I've created an account on BVEStation; just waiting for it to be activated. I presume that you're a forum regular, so perhaps you could post an introduction and let the community know that I accepted your invitation, and then I can post something in response and say hello to other members, and invite queries? I might not get a chance to post until tomorrow, though.

I'd be happy to help with object placement in .animated files. Sometimes it's easier to have a set of objects to work with, so I can demonstrate what I mean rather than merely trying to explain it. So if you like, you could send me a few files which you're having difficulty with, let me know what you want, and I'll modify them for you, explain what I did, and why it works. Then, you could try again with other objects yourself, see how far you get, and I'll help if you run into difficulty.

Looking forward to hearing from you. :)

Kind regards,
Anthony.
