There is a version of OpenBVE which works on the mac. All you need is Mono framework, and the application file. I know because I have it. VM's are no good and slow. At least on the MacBook pro

I know Boot Camp allows you to install from an image, and maybe parallels, but the usual method is from a cd, which you should burn at 2 or 4X. Boot Camp allows you to Dual Boot, which makes windows performance faster since you're not really running 2 operating systems simultaneously.

I would certainly recommend Boot Camp, because its more of a native dual boot.

If you dont have a Windows XP CD available then your left with no choice but to use OpenBVE, and follow the instructions to run it via Mono.

I would recommend you just use OpenBVE via Mono, because its a huge hassle to get a dual boot system up and running.  There are more steps, things you need, and more time.  There aren't really any advantages to dual booting, unless you run many Windows applications, in which case buying a macbook was a bad idea in the first place.  If you just have to use BVE, then get a Windows XP disk, and use Boot Camp.
