Memo on illegal discussion/piracy

ipaclansite:

I've been noticing an increase in the amount of topics that encourage or discuss illegal activity or how to's on how to obtain software illegally.  This is just a reminder to everyone that this is (supposed to be) a major violation of the BVEStation Forum rules.  (Supposed to be because we have been very lenient on this and giving friendly reminders)

If you discuss or post topics regarding illegal activity or obtaining copyrighted material illegally, the topic will be moderated/deleted and you will be warned.

We cannot have these discussions on the forum because they put the entire forum at risk of being shut down by authorities.  Since this is such a serious consequence, we will make (eventually) make the punishment far greater than what we do now.

This means:
1. No links to other sites that either provide instructions or give direct links to obtain files illegally
2. No instructions on the forum on how to obtain files illegally
3. No using the forum as a medium to tell somebody, do not do it via PM, or forum.  This includes saying give me a PM and I'll tell you how to do x or y or I'll contact you on how to do x or y.
4. No trying to be sneaky saying, "you can do it, but I cant tell you how here..."

Now obviously we're not trying to be in denial here, but this rule is also server wide as the servers that BVEStation is hosted on requires us to abide to this rule.  We're not going to take any chances that put us at any risk.

Do not discuss illegal activity on the forum, do not risk the community.  If you violate this rule, you will be warned and banned.  If you find or believe a topic violates this rule, please report it to the administrators as soon as possible, so we can take appropriate actions.

If you are reporting copyrighted BVE files or anything of that nature, you can report it here as well, and the administrators will again take appropriate action.  Members found "stealing" copyrighted material for their own BVE show-offs will have their topics deleted and appropriate actions taken against them.

Thank you for your cooperation.
