it is possible (and i have done it) to update openBVE on the mac. One just needs to open the .app file and replace the necessary components.

I'm not saying it's impossible to port it, but the whole reason why you have to port it yourself is because the devs didn't know how to. Or else you could just dl the package on the site.

That's another thing, the screen on the iPhone/Touch is so small, how can you see anything on it?
