I understand but I meant only route files(coding) many of the files are less than 200kb and it probably won't even take a second to upload it to their email or email it to someone to hold or even put it on a flashdrive or a CD.It's a no-brainer and the size is so small it'll probably take less than 1sec.

That's true. However man, we gotta face the truth. The don't do it, and there's nothing that can be done about it...

True,it sucks and that plays a big role in this community's mood.Excitement for projects going on with healthy updates and a big disappointment when something is lost or discontinued.

hey, it happens. And you can't just upload 1 file. If somebody's coding a route then they'd obviously make new objects for it as well. We don't automatically have everything as soon as we start. And when we finish, backing up would be the last thing on some of our minds, it's mentally exhausting to code routes. saving it to flash drives aren't failsafe either, it's very easy to disconnect a drive the wrong way and damage sectors

I agree with ray, coding routes is exhausting, and backing things up especially BVE files are more of a hassle than anything.  All these failures however, are quite rare, its not like our computers die everyday.

And yes obviously we make new objects, and that brings the object folder up to 150MB (eg. when I was working on the G)  While 150MB isn't alot, the sheer number of files takes a very long time to copy, let alone zip up and copy.

Just copying the route file isn't enough, what use is a small route file, if all the objects don't exist?  Thats like writing the index of a book, without the book, since in respect thats what the route file literally is.

Of course any backup is better than no backup, but do realize that its a hassle, and while its important to do it, it is the last thing on our mind.

When something is discontinued, it does not mean the work was lost, but rather the author is too busy to work on it, or they have their own reasons for discontinuing it.  I wouldn't know, you would have to ask them for that.  At least you guys get some eye candy, rather than us keeping shut about a project then popping up out of nowhere.  Well that's what these development topics are for anyway, its just pure eye candy.

And jtb is right, the traffic stats show the opposite of what you guys are thinking.  The last 4 months are the highest traffic stats ever in the entire course of BVEStation History, quite impressive actually.  If there's no activity in the forum, then at least there's always somebody checking us out and reading things, even if there are sparse updates.

The most users online thing is never accurate, as there are times when there are bots that visit the site, which could unnaturally increase that number.
