R38 Remake

Dj Hammers:

If any of you were wondering what that surprise i mentioned was, it was this! Me and trainspot12 are officially improving the R38 on major fronts.

Improvements include:
Improved OpenBVE compatibility
Highly increased panel accuracy
Improved sounds
Most likely an exterior view
And much more!

Here are 2 screen-shots showing the improved panel and the original:

New

Original

Some improvements are:

The side window has been repositioned and now has the handle used for opening it.

The speedometer is now more accurate looking.

The door indicator now uses a transparency texture to blend in to the instrument panel.

The windshield wiper is now accurately all grey/silver.

The top left panel's buttons now have an illusion of depth.

Various parts of the panel have been recolored to provide a better illusion of depth.

Various "seams" in the black panel have been replicated.

Some small adjustments were made to the "brake" light on the bottom left (does it actually illuminate when braking is does it serve some other purpose?)

A test photorealistic texture is being used for the fan control knob, not sure if I want to keep it.

Problems that haven't been fixed because well, i don't know how to fix them  :D:

The original Run0 sound was not accurate, and it's replacement tends to sound weird in OpenBVE.

The sound of the brakes screeching should begin playing only below 10 MPH.

The flanges screech even on the slightest curve.

The emergency brake is less powerful than full service braking.

The right side of the panel might not be absolutely and completely accurate like the left side because i don't have any pictures of it. If you have any, PLEASE PM me.

Suggestions are welcome!
Also I want to keep this project a lot more open to others to work on. If you have an idea you can implement, PM me!

Very nice Hammers, but the emergency breaks being less stronger than full service breaks actually happens in every train for BVE  :P

Dj Hammers:

anyone have cab pics or pics that show parts of the cab (from the inside or outside). That would be useful. Also, please give input. Even the smallest details that you want, just say it!  :D
