I didn't want to create a new post, so this is just a notification to everyone, that the chat has reopened.  Thank you guys for the wait, and Happy Independence Day.

Today is the 234th birthday of the United States. The greatest country EVER established on this planet. On July 4,1776, 56 representatives from the 13 colonies met in Philadelphia to sign a document called the "Declaration of Independence". It is one of the finiest documents ever created. On this day, I think all of us should take a couple of minutes to read it, and think about what it says. I think it`s important because of a poll I saw the other day that states 1 out of 4 US high Schol students didn`t know that we declared our independence from Great Britain. That is a disgrace. Here is a link to the Declaration:

Sorry bout the pic, but my camera doesn't do well without flash... >.<

Joe, I thought I heard something like that recently. It's not only a disgrace, it's also quite disturbing and it makes you wonder what these teachers are teaching today.

It`s not just the teacher`s fault, it`s the students and their parents fault as well. Students today IMO are not taught about what has made America great. Proof is here since there have been only 2 responses to this thread, and I noticed on Facebook today, a member here saying that America sucks. If any person thinks that way, they are free to leave. Students better learn what America has done and the sacrifices earlier generations have made for us to live here, and not look for handouts from our Marxist President.

IMO I prefer the Constitutions literature over the Declarations, but they both work for establishing the country for which we know today.
