Concerning Exterior Views and Trains Made for OpenBVE

OK Guys, you should already by now know my views on OpenBVE. I'm not the strongest supporter of it, however, I have been noticing a trend among the so-called "developers" who are making exterior views and trains for OpenBVE. First thing I've noticed is how there seems to be no real quality among most of the stuff made for OpenBVE by us now. In less professional yet understandable terms, deadass some of your stuff looks like shit, you gotta stop rushing and get your shit together. I said this time and time before and this the last time I hope I have to say it although I'm sure most of you probably won't listen anyway. I'm not addressing any of the recently released and/or development in progress trains in particular because they suck equally. That's more fact than opinion and you gotta face it. Get your acts together! When you really think about it, if you think, we release quality routes and there are quality routes in development as well, and honestly we look stupid releasing top quality routes and bullshit trains. I mean seriously compare this:

And from our own site this:

To this:

And thats just recently ^^
You may think I'm being a bit harsh but it needs to be said so w/e if you don't agree. What I'm saying is...put your all into it and don't just produce crap.

And then again we don't get any slack either as staff..well the ones that have the final say over putting stuff up in the downloads section....whatever happened to the Quality Assurance Team? How about taking the time to overlook stuff instead of just plastering it on the downloads section because you're too lazy to care? Again no more crap on the downloads section, start rejecting the crap and encourage people to come to us with better stuff to have uploaded and it'll make us look like young developers with talent instead of just OpenBVE obsessed immature untalented brats.

GoYankees:

I agree with coney...the brits and UK completely pwn us

Yeah were not the best. Some people put effort, while others put crap together

Here's our policy on hosting, we host anybody's work who wishes to have their work hosted on BVEStation, as long as it works, and doesn't contain malicious material.

The QA Team died for whatever reason, I dont know how that happened, coney's one of the QA Assurance Team members anyway.  But if it helps people out, I will put back the original "pass" or "fail" signs back up.  Its just error's design of the downloads page makes it difficult to put a rating before you click the route, which I believe isn't good.  For now however, its the trains from what I am seeing.  If it were me, most of the trains would fail my QA checklist, but its the only ones we have.  Bill made an effort to purge all the extra trains, and leave in a standard one.

So what will I do, a simple pass or fail on the downloads section now.  In the future, the QA Team will be able to voice their opinion like they used to, but users will also be able to voice their opinions as well with a brand new rating system, and commenting system (when it comes, I warn you guys DO NOT POST for support there) on the downloads.

So anybody can host their content on BVEStation, and anyone is welcome to, I dont reject anybody's work unless it doesn't work, isn't considered complete, or has malicious content in it.  But its not our fault if your material gets poor ratings.  Content will receive special recognition if ratings are really high.

I honestly agree with coney as well. There are lots of work I have seen, and some of them could have been worked on instead of releasing it as plain as it looks.

Dumb4life, take this any way you want, but to me what coney and I are doing is merely constructive criticism. The panel could really use some work, and you don't have to do it on your own. Why, my phone camera can't take the ends of cars really well, so Kawasaki was willing to help me snap the end of the cars with his camera. The point is, true, we've seen panels better than what you have right now, but if you can't do it you could always ask for help. It's nice to see one person make a whole trainset, but it's also nice to see many people collaborate on a trainset as well!

I made new b3d train files to replace the old static trains that we have in BVEStation as a start to making my HQ trainsets. Plus, I'm really taking my time taking pictures, my trainsets, and whatnot, which is why I haven't posted progress yet, and probably won't be for the next few months. I have yet to back my words with proof because at this time my trains do look like crap, but when my trains become of high quality I will be showing it.
