Basic BVE and OpenBVE guidelines

Ok I for one am fed up with everyone deciding they're developers now...especially when they aren't putting out quality stuff so here are some guidelines that everyone should abide by if they decide they wanna be a developer on BVEStation

1. STOP TRYING TO MAKE TRAINS THAT HAVE 3 OR MORE VERSIONS OUT ALREADY
Why the hell do we need another R42 or another R46? there are like 5 of those on the downloads page already...we need one good R42 and for it to stay that way
2. OH MY GOD STOP USING THE DAMN GENERIC SOUNDS OR SOUNDS THAT WERE USED PREVIOUSLY AND STOP USING THE SAME DATA OVER AND OVER
Be original..one of the main attractions to BVE is sound and the way the train operates...nobody wants to hear that generic ass sound we were working with years ago....nobody wants to hear the same run sounds on every new train that comes out just because you're rushing to put the train out faster...also nobody wants to have the trains have the same feel to them, no 2 trains operate alike and that should be true for BVE also....They can wait...take your damn time and it'll be worth it when the train actually works right
3. MAKE SURE THE TRAIN ACTUALLY WORKS RIGHT
This comes from the ending of number 2...don't speed through everything and then have the train sent off to the downloads section(the trains aren't evaluated before they go on there or so it seems) and then the train doesn't even work and there's 450,000 whining members saying they cant get their train to work OMG PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
4.THINK
Think about this...stop sugarcoating the truth...the british trains sound almost like their real life counterparts...while our trains don't even sound 50% similar....everyone's busting their asses trying to make sure their train works in openBVE, but nobody worries about how the train sounds compared to real life. Our routes have the potential to be and from what some people say are actually better than the NYCT simulator that costs millions of dollars while were doing this all with a free program...our trains should be that way too...get quality sounds!

OK this is for the potential and existing route developers

1. FICTIONAL ROUTES
we have enough of those already...you guys put more effort into making fictional routes than you would trying to make a real route look like it does in real life which were slowly beginning to do. I can understand the ones making routes to be reviewed by Joe in order to have Joe decide if you can be assigned to a real route or not..but fictional stuff holds us back..especially when the good developers are wasting time making routes from Pennsylvania to Westchester but can't spend a few months on an actual NYCTA route
2. ROUTE QUALITY
we don't draw our walls no more...thats a no-no...it's all about photorealistic textures..making the stations look like they do in real life...having people be able to compare 45th street on the R to the real deal. It's called attention to detail...go visit the route in real life and if you have a camera handy snap some pics not just of textures but of the actual station and use those pics to model your station after...Joes responsible for tracks, switches, curves, etc but you...the one he hired are responsible for making the route look good and something like it does in the real world.

those are the guidelines for now...they will be amended as new things come up...have a great day!
