hey i just got windows 7 and from some reason bve dose not work a few months ago i was using bve on xp and it was working now its saying it can't initialize direct 3D idk wat the problem is i put on direct x 9 but still nothing any one know wat should i do ....

LIRRMEDFORD:

It was the same thing with vista. When vista was first released it took almost forever to figure out what system settings had to be tweaked to get bve to run. Actually it was figured out no more then a month ago. And from what I remember it has nothing to do with direct X. Eventually someone will come out with a solution right before the next platform is released. My advice stick to XP and Vista. I do XP myself cause vista takes to much resources :P

There's two easy steps to this:

1) Install the latest DirectX.

2) Do this:

Works perfectly on my Windows Vista install using a ATI Radeon X1250 on a laptop. You guys need to remember that Windows Vista and later doesn't have the native support for DX7, and DX8 in which BVE2/4 uses. In order to get them to work, you have to reinstall and register the modules that DX7/8 used so that the program can use them.

GoYankees:

get vista then go to the submit a tutorial and look for how to get bve on vista. i dont think bve works on windows 7

It works. They both use DX10. The install process is the same.
