Optimize your system for maximum performance (for BVE)

Well this kind of information is posted everywhere, (I think) So I'll post it here.
If your BVE lags like f*ck its about time we add a little more FPS it it.

First, right click your computer, click properties> advanced>under performance click settings>Click adjust for best performance>and click apply.

What will this do? This will make your computer look visually plain, but the visuals do take up some CPU power, therefore lowering the graphics will allow you to get some more juice in  ;D  In the end, you can always go back and check em all again.

Second we'll end a bunch of tasks, so we've got plenty of memory to run BVE.
In your taskbar next to the clock, close everything that you deem unnecessary.  You can even close your anti-virus, being that you disconnect your internet too.
<Advanced Users: Task Manager and end all the tasks that aren't necessary, just make sure you don't end critical processes otherwise you just pwned your computer>

Third, start up BVE, open up task manager, go to processes, and end the explorer.exe.
Just make sure you say goodbye to your desktop and all that inhabited it, for now at least...  This will close the desktop, leaving with a blank empty screen without a taskbar.  Since Explorer.exe uses alot of memory, this will give BVE more memory to maneuver and give you some performance that you may need.  Whenever your done, you can either open back task manager run explorer.exe (In application>New Task) or you can hit the shut down restart, on top to bring your computer back to your normal state.

Some other performance tips,
1. Get a memory upgrade!
2. Fire up the afterburners (well not really) Overclock your computer is what I meant
3. Convert the route from RW to CSV, though I'm not sure if that effects anything.
4. Play your route in BVE 4 instead of BVE 2 or vice versa.
5. Lower the graphics settings! (Duh?)  Set the distance lower, and lower the resolutions, also remember full screen is better than windowed, and full screen at the lowest resolution is also good!

If you have anymore BVE Performance Tips post them here!

Amtrak Train 7 Empire Builder:

Get a better video card (nVidia 7300FX or 8200FX?).
Get 2GB instead of 512MB of RAM (iPwn BVE with that part!)

Kawasaki_Plant:

ur ideas are very risky

1.) Getting a new memory card costs 50 dollars- 50 dollars down the ****** drain.
2.) Closing all of those programs may SERIOUSLY harm ur computer

ipaclansite:

1.) Depends on if you have the money anyway.....
2.) If you know what processes are critical to the computer, you wouldn't SERIOUSLY harm your computer, so if your a dumbass, and start ending whatever you feel like only then will you SERIOUSLY harm your computer, even though you still wont SERIOUSLY harm your computer anyway, trying ending a few svchost.exe's and you'll see what I mean, your computer will be back to normal when you restart it.  In reality you CANT SERIOUSLY harm your computer by ending whatever you feel like, since most of those critical processes would be locked anyway, and usually a restart would fix it.
