In this tutorial you will learn about your BVE Directory. This tutorial implies that you have BVE installed already, and are now trying to add content to BVE.

This is your BVE Installation directory. Generally it's C:\Program Files\BVE so check and make sure it is there before continuing.

This is your Railway folder. Inside here you must have all the data needed for a route to run (route files, object files, and sound files.) When adding on content from this site, it is very important to read instructions carefully, as many routes require you install other ones to properly load. The B for example, requires that you install the A, C, then D lines (In that order) before you can install it.

Now let's head inside the Railway Folder...

The Route folder is where all of your route files go. They can either be inside of a folder or alone. This factor is different from Objects and Sounds, which must be in their respective folders.

Your Object Folder. All folders containing objects for a route must be in this folder. Objects without a folder will be disregarded by BVE.

The sound folder. Like the object folder, all sounds in here without a folder will be ignored.

And that is all there is to your Railway folder. Before we end this tutorial though, let's take one last look at your main BVE directory....

Once you're back in your main BVE directory, you should see a folder called train (if not create one). All trains must be in this folder to load in BVE. Like Objects and Sounds, Trains must also be inside their own individual folder in the Train directory to load also.

When you open a train folder, your contents should look like this:

And that is all there is to your BVE directory. If you are ever stumped, be sure to ask around the forums for help. Make sure you read the readme first!
